Would you and your family or your painting group enjoy an artists’ retreat at the Tallapoosa School of Art? If so, read on!
The Blue Heron is the rustic, charming lakefront inn that has been the vacation home of the Littleton family for nearly 50 years. Beginning in September of 2019, we will welcome our artist friends and their families whenever we are not hosting teaching artists for workshops. The Blue Heron consists of four suites, each with a bedroom, private bath, private porch overlooking the lake, and kitchen or kitchenette. Each suite accommodates one or two guests, and all are wired with wi-fi and smart TVs. There are also multiple decks, docks, and a boathouse on the waterfront, and a three-story screen porch with four built-in bunks and a 20-foot dining table. The Blue Heron is where our guests stay during our spring and fall workshops. It is adjacent to the Tallapoosa School of Art’s spacious and well-equipped northern-light studio.
Both the Blue Heron and our studio are available for artists’ retreats. The full bedroom and bath in the studio loft are also available during your stay. You and your family or your painting group are invited to schedule a time for your own retreat with full, 24/7 use of the facilities, studio, waterfront, and grounds. We can make a wide variety of arrangements, including transportation to plein air painting sites aboard our pontoon boat and catered meals for your group if desired. Pricing is flexible depending on amenities desired and the size of your family or art group.
